Like it or not, summer is just around the corner. So, before temperatures soar and you have to start spending a lot more time indoors, make sure to summer-proof your home.
First off, give your AC units a full service. The last thing you want is for them to conk out mid-July, so get them seen to. Also make sure to clean the vents regularly yourself, to avoid a build-up of mildew.
Next, de-clutter your living spaces. Pack up heavier clothing and bedclothes, put away your boots and have a good old clear out.
Invest in some lightweight cotton sheets and make sure to change your sheets as often as possible once the heat sets in, as you’ll be sweating a lot more.
Your curtains and blinds will be a vital ally in keeping out the worst of the summer heat, so treat them to a good clean. Getting rid of any dust and dirt will also improve the air quality of your interior, which is important if you are going to be spending more time indoors. A couple of new indoor plants will also brighten up your home while improving the quality of the air.
Finally, invest in some new summery accessories. Go for light, bright colours that will make you feel cheery. And then get those box sets ready.
